Innovative imaging for industry and science

At BAPIS we offer our customers from industry and research application-optimized solutions and expert consulting in the fields of imaging and digital control. We develop, design, manufacture and optimize hardware, software and firmware that make our customers’ products and applications precise, reliable, efficient and future-proof. Our solutions are used in applications for digitization and archiving, automation and quality control, and medicine and science. Our customers come from the document capture, automotive, mechanical engineering, robotics and medical technology industries, among others.

BAPIS is a brand of DATAWIN GmbH, based in Landshut, Germany. DATAWIN GmbH and BAPIS LLC, based in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, specialize in high-speed color and grayscale data capture and processing. Our imaging technology is used in a wide variety of mechanical transporters, scanners, and numerous high-speed applications worldwide, including government, medical, scientific, banking, printing, automation, quality management and industrial applications.

Based on our many years of experience, we are one of the leading technological suppliers of electronics for color and grayscale cameras based on high-speed CMOS, CCD and CIS line sensors as well as area sensors. In addition, we develop and produce embedded image processing electronics based on DSP and FPGA with proprietary algorithms. Furthermore, we customize firmware for customer requirements and develop device drivers and interfaces for application programs.

BAPIS is a member of the Automated Imaging Association (AIA), the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA) and of the Texas Instruments DSP Third Party Network.

Our team

Our team consists of engineers, technicians, designers, skilled workers, marketing experts and industrial and administrative assistants. Within our group of companies, we draw on a contingent of over 100 highly qualified employees – including some of the most experienced imaging experts in the world. Management

Our History

BAPIS was founded in 2000 by Dr. Ing. Peter Bonk and developed from a one-man engineering office into a world leader in the niche market of high-speed acquisition and processing of color and grayscale image data. Today, imaging hardware, software and firmware from BAPIS support high-speed applications in a wide range of industries worldwide.

In 2017, BAPIS became a wholly owned subsidiary of its longtime partner DATAWIN. In 2021, BAPIS was merged into its former parent company and has since been a proud brand of DATAWIN GmbH.
